My name is Geraldine (she/her), though everyone calls me Gerry. I’m a first‑generation Caribbean-born graduate, a proud single mother of three young men, and a mental health counselor practicing under a limited permit. My guiding philosophy is simple: “Each one teach one. If you didn’t come from a healthy family, make sure a healthy family comes from you.”
I hold dual master’s degrees in health education & promotion and clinical mental health counseling, along with a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Lehman College. Since 2005, I’ve worked throughout health and human services, and those experiences shaped my belief that healing is holistic and rooted in each person’s unique story.
I honor the resilience and pride we all carry, even when it isn’t always visible. I offer a space where you can show up fully without code‑switching, without shrinking, and with the freedom to be your authentic self. You are not alone. My warm, collaborative approach honors your pace and your truth. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing what’s broken it’s about reclaiming what’s already yours: your voice, your joy, your rest, your wholeness. Outside of counseling, I recharge by watching sci‑fi movies, burning candles, enjoying spicy foods (I’m a proud foodie!), and indulging in the therapeutic ritual of online window shopping.
